Meeting Dr. Handelman has been a life changer for our family. His down to earth approach, humour and in depth diagnosis has really turned things around for our family. Three of our family has gone to Dr. Handelman and have been able to get an in-depth look at our ADHD as well as get a wealth of resources to help us integrate our diagnosis into our daily lives. I cannot stress enough how patient and thorough he was with our son and ourselves. His diagnosis is affordable and comprehensive with significant emphasis on how our personalities are and where our strengths lie as well as health adjustments to make the most out of our diagnosis.Plenty of parking available though he is located on the second floor I can't confirm an elevator.Jennifer on his admin staff was most helpful and thorough and really accommodating. Testing was thorough about 2 hours and comprehensive with explanation of what each phase is testing for.What I greatly appreciate with Dr. Handelman is that he is able to give practical help moving forward and is very down to earth in helping us understand and give us a greater understanding of how our neuro-divergent brains functions. We as a family are deeply grateful and we cannot thank him enough for his work.

Duped by a conniving parent during divorce, Dr Handleman was unable to distinguish between fact and fiction. He worked out of scope, conducting paid academic research to support a false legal claim, which the courts ultimately set aside. We still live with the wedge created, as strangers to each other.

The team here shows great care and follow through for their patients. Although there is a cost for elements of the service that OHIP does not cover, it was well worth the investment. After some trial and error with a spectrum of medications, we have finally found one that is well-tolerated and effective. Dr. Handelman listened carefully and was supportive from the initial visit through to our final session. He helped our family learn about ADHD and how we can manage through it.

I am former client of Dara and I have strong concerns about her vocabulary in regards to ocd, I am understanding that she doesn't view certian illness as a disorder, most cases disorder.I would put dara through more sensitivity training especially when romantic partners are also supportive about another.The way I was treated for ocd isn't a vaild excuse to put me out of my post secondary education over Big ideas." Dr. Handelman is a great, thorough doctor. We had the pleasure of meeting him last week for my daughter and he gave us answers we were searching for after so many years of feeling lost. My experience with Dr. Handleman and his team has changed my life. It's so refreshing to find a clinical team who truly care about the patients, and go above and beyond to ensure that you are comfortable with your care, and also that you understand it!The initial cost of the assessment was a bit of a shock, but trust me when I tell you that your mental health is worth every penny. Dr. Handleman is a wonderful man, funny, frank and puts a lot of time and effort into his assessments and goes through a thorough explanation of any diagnosis with you, to help answer any questions you may have.

Excellent and thorough doctor. The level of assessment provided is well worth the additional fee, as it is quite comprehensive -much more thorough than anything we've received from other psychiatrists. Dr. Handleman was friendly, compassionate, and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

I received a call from Dr. Handelman’s office today as a referral was sent from my doctor, but we couldn’t get past the ignorance of the secretary who called as I was trying to get a clear understanding of what on earth I would be receiving with the $800 fee that he charges – She kept repeating “a comprehensive assessment” but when I asked for the details regarding what OHIP covers vs the $800 fee, she didn’t want to keep repeating herself (her words). Also, reading all of the reviews on RateMD and knowing two families who have gone to him for “treatment”, I think I’ll just go back to my doctor for a different referral as I’m not so keen on giving pills to my son after one 20 minutes assessment. The two families who see him are all on medication now, including both parents, all the siblings and one family’s DOG is also apparently takes ADHD meds! Ridiculous, I know.Unfortunately, this is the reality of our mental health system and it's becoming very clear why people dont bother since it's a cash grab filled with very confusing advice. Dr. Handelman is a huge advocate for ADHD so I don't think he should be giving the assessments for this and perhaps he should only be sent referrals once a more neutral opinion has been given by someone who doesn't financially benefit from diagnosing this condition.

Dr. Kenny Handelman, is by far the best Psychiatrist I have encountered, Before our consultation, I had to complete multiple tests which provided a deeper explanation in regards to my personal situation with ADHD. Afterward, Dr. Kenny was direct with me which I loved, no sugar-coating he provided me all the information I needed as is, which I value a lot. After our consultation, he provided medication that has changed my life for the best!Finally, Dr. Kenny is as great as his team, Especially Cassandra on the Admin side of things. She followed up as needed and I personally felt she always took care of anything I requested or needed.Truly happy to have found Dr. Kenny, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Literally night and day compared to other clinics I have interacted with. Staff is so incredibly kind and understanding. Dr. Handelman is without a doubt the best psychiatrist I’ve encountered. He listens to you carefully, is understanding, acknowledges individuals’ autonomy and knowledg-base/understanding of themselves, professional, exceptionally educated, friendly, has a good sense of humour, and clearly wants to assist you to the best of his abilities. Highly recommend this clinic to families and individuals.When they say its a comprehensive assessment, it really stands by this. I appreciate the effort they put into the integrity of diagnoses. I am also grateful for the knowledge that Dr. Handelman and his staff have on not only ADHD, but other comorbidities that exist with it. Not only that, but they customize and provide reliable resources for you to advance to the next steps and offer additional assistance if needed. You can clearly tell they know what they’re doing.The assessment can be time consuming and costly, but extremely worth while if you can afford it. My time at this clinic has finally put me in the correct direction I needed and reinstated my hope for the mental healthcare system. Other clinics should take note - this is how you do it.
